Help make campus a destination for exploration this April
This April, researchers and outreachers from all paths of science at UW–Madison have the opportunity to participate in a month-long series of events that invites the public to experience science as exploring the unknown.
The series is called “Science Expeditions,” and its organizers welcome all interested faculty, staff, students and retirees to get involved by hosting a science-related event or simply informing them of one already planned during April.
In addition to highlighting the university’s commitment to outreach and the Wisconsin Idea, Science Expeditions 2005 also will emphasize that the scientific and educational enterprise at UW–Madison does not stop at the shores of Lake Mendota — it exists throughout the state, the country and the world.
Members of the UW–Madison community who are interested in sharing science with Wisconsin during this year’s Science Expeditions can offer special presentations, science demonstrations or hands-on “Explorations Stations” at the kick-off event on Saturday, April 2. If science outreach activities are already on tap for April, the Science Expeditions organizers would like to co- promote them in news stories, advertisements, a color brochure about the event and the Science Expeditions Web site, http://www.science.wisc.edu.
