e-Grading process replaces paper grade rosters
UW–Madison took a significant step forward in improved service and efficiencies this week as the campus implemented electronic submission of grades for faculty. A joint project of the Office of the Registrar and DoIT, the new e-Grading method replaces the paper grade list process.
Ease and convenience
For faculty, e-Grading is fast, convenient and efficient. Grades may be entered and submitted from anywhere the instructor has web access. Faculty and staff no longer have to track down paper grade lists, and there will be no need to wait for rosters to be dropped off or picked up.
Improved service
Electronic submission of grades provides an enormous improvement in service to students, who will be able to view their grades in My UW–Madison the day after the instructor submits them. Students no longer have to wait several days for paper grade lists to be processed.
Savings of money and space
Finally, e-Grading will improve efficiencies campus-wide in the collecting and recording of final grades. The university will save the cost of printing reams of paper grade lists each term, and the ability to archive grade rosters electronically will also be a money and space saver for departments.
Your feedback is welcomed
We’re excited about the launch of e-Grading through My UW Madison and the opportunity to get feedback on aspects faculty like most, as well as those areas we can improve. As with everything “e” these days, we see this initiative as continuing to evolve. Contact the Office of the Registrar at 262-4859 or egrade@das.wisc.edu.
