Friends of UW Hospital and Clinics hold tree-lighting ceremony

December 7, 2004

The Friends of the UW Hospital and Clinics will present its annual Love Lights Tree Lighting Ceremony on Sunday, Dec. 12.

First held in 1998, the campaign raises money for programs and services such as the Wigs for Patients program, the Gail and Gordon Derzon Endowment Fund for Patient Assistance, the Learning Center, Healing Images for Children and nursing education scholarships.

Love Lights trees will be located outside between the main entrance and clinics entrance of UW Hospital and Clinics. For a minimum $5 donation, one light will be placed on the trees. Three lights can be placed for $10, and a strand can be placed for $100. Larger gifts are welcome.

White lights represent loved ones being remembered. Red lights honor a living person.

This year’s ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. at the Health Sciences Learning Center, 750 Highland Ave. Free parking is available.
