Ask Bucky
Do you have questions? Ask Bucky has answers! Ask Bucky is a service provided by the Campus Information and Visitor Center — your one-stop shop for information about the UW–Madison campus and surrounding community, and your centralized source for off-campus housing listings. Below are two questions Ask Bucky recently answered.

Q: I’m wondering about some UW–Madison trivia. Do you know how many times that the Badgers have gone to the Rose Bowl, and when they have won?

A: According to UW Athletics Department, the Badgers have played in six Rose Bowl Games (1953, 1960, 1963, 1994, 1999 and 2000). Of these six, the Badgers won three. Go Badgers!

Q: Iwas on campus a week ago and thoroughly enjoyed the tour and ice cream! My late father received your alumni magazine, and I always enjoyed reading it. How can I get a subscription to this magazine? It is an excellent publication.

A: I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your tour of the UW–Madison campus! The Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA), in partnership with University Communications, publishes On Wisconsin magazine, which is distributed to UW–Madison alumni and friends.

Union plans Wiscard Wednesdays
Use your Wiscard on Wednesday and save an extra 5 percent at selected Wisconsin Union restaurants and delis.

Each month during the academic year, one or two different union locations will be featured. The November locations are the Daily Scoop in Memorial Union and Einstein’s Food Court at Union South. For December, it’s the Ingraham Deli in Ingraham Hall. For more information visit the Wiscard page, www.wiscard.wisc.edu.

This 5 percent is in addition to the regular savings accrued through using Wiscard at campus food units. This means students will save 10.5 percent with a Campus Cash account and 15.5 percent with the Union Meal Plan. Faculty and staff also will save 5 percent.

For more information, contact Laura Pescatore, 265-4140, ljpescat@wisc.edu. For a listing of all the Union delis and restaurants, visit http://www.union.wisc.edu/food/index.html.

New Web site helps graduates seeking work
A free service from the Wisconsin Alumni Association called Badger Access is available at http://www.uwalumni.com/career/. The site is powered by monsterTRAK.com, one of the world’s leaders in Internet employment sites.

Badger Access will help UW–Madison’s more than 350,000 alumni — and 41,588 current students — to be more aware of job opportunities and will enable Wisconsin employers to access alumni.

Once at the site, job seekers can search for full-time, part-time, temporary, internship and co-op positions. They can upload a resume, find a contact in an alumni network to talk about various careers and get in-depth profiles of companies seeking employees.

The Wisconsin Alumni Association has been working in partnership with monsterTRAK.com to help alumni find jobs for more than six years. Since launching Badger Access in January, more than 6,000 jobs have been posted, in fields from aerospace engineering to advertising.

Businesses searching for UW–Madison grads pay a small fee to post jobs at Badger Access. To learn more about posting jobs, visit http://www.uwalumni.com/badgeraccess/.
