GIS Day Expo to be held Nov. 17

November 10, 2004

On Wednesday, Nov. 17, the Department of Geography will host the second annual Geographic Information Systems Day Expo.

The expo will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in Memorial Union.

Event organizers hope to promote awareness of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for research, planning, management, education and decision-making in an array of application areas. Those interested in GIS also will be exposed to career opportunities in the field and learn about educational and training opportunities on campus.

The event is free and open to the university community and the general public.

For more information, contact Karen Tuerk, GIS Day coordinator, at 265-9975 or kstuerk@wisc.edu, or visit the GIS Day Web site, http://www.gisday.com.
