Benefits questions? Employee fair will answer them
Do you feel like your benefit plans are confusing and you don’t know how to maximize all the university has to offer? Attend the annual UW Benefits Fair sponsored by the Employee Compensation and Benefits Office (EC&BO) on Wednesday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. in the Great Hall of the Memorial Union.
Vendors from all the benefit programs will be available on-site. This year’s fair includes informational tables staffed by community- and university-affiliated organizations. Also new this year, Hmong and Spanish translators will be available to help employees better understand their benefit packages.
Employees can attend one or more of the seven presentations available throughout the day. Donna Weihofen, a senior nutritionist at UW Hospital and Clinics, returns to give her presentation “Seven Nutrition Habits of Highly Healthy People.” A panel of three people who specialize in integrative medicine at UW Research Park will share how individuals can combine traditional or alternative medicine with modern medicine. Panel members will be Lucille Marchand, a physician who specializes in integrative medicine; Michael Johnson, clinical massage therapist and athletic trainer; and Katherine Bonus, manager of the UW Health Mindfulness Program.
A complete list of vendors, organizations, presentations and health assessments is available online. For more information on the fair, call 262-5650.
