African Studies seminars announced

The African Studies Program has announced its series of Sandwich Seminars for the fall semester.
The seminars take place each Wednesday in October at noon in 206 Ingraham Hall. Participants are asked to bring their own lunches. Coffee will be available.

Wednesday, Oct. 6
Meti Birabiro, Ethiopian writer, speaks on “A Writer’s Journey From Ethiopia to Los Angeles: Blue Daughter of the Red Sea.” The talk is co-sponsored with the University Lectures Committee, UW Press and the Department of Comparative Literature.
Wednesday, Oct. 13
Tulsidas Morar, Department of Science, Mathematics and Technology Education at the University of Port Elizabeth, and Mogamat Fadli Wagiet, Department of Biology and Natural Sciences at the University of Western Kape, will give a talk titled “South Africa: Past, Present and Future.”
Wednesday, Oct. 20
Scott Straus, assistant professor of political science at UW–Madison, will address “What Does Rwanda Teach Us About Sudan (if Anything)?”
