Candidates for violence prevention position to visit

July 19, 2004

Beginning Monday, the campus community and public are invited to ask questions and contribute thoughts on the two finalists for violence prevention specialist, a position with University Health Services.

The successful candidate will work proactively with students, staff and faculty to develop effective primary violence prevention strategies and activities at the university, with a focus on sexual assault and relationship violence prevention.

The search and screen committee, chaired by Dean of Students Luoluo Hong and including students, community members and university student services staff, has narrowed the field down to two finalists who will come to campus for all-day visits and interviews.

Open sessions will be available during each visit for the public to meet the finalists, ask questions, and contribute thoughts about the candidates on feedback forms.

The sessions with the finalists are:

Today (Monday): Pete Meagher, 12:30-1:30 p.m., Memorial Union (TITU).

Tuesday, July 20: Heather Sturm, 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m., Memorial Union (TITU).
