Records management classes offered in May, June

April 27, 2004

To improve understanding of broad records management and archival concepts, and to explain issues specific to UW–Madison, a series of workshops is being held in May and June.

The University Archives and Records Management Services will be offering five records management workshops this spring.

The first, Managing University Records on Monday, May 17, from 11:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m., covers background and retention schedules.

Records Management for Personnel Officers meets Tuesday, June 8, from 9-11 a.m. Here, personnel officers can learn what to do with accumulated personnel files clogging their filing cabinets, and gain a better sense of what should be in a personnel file.

Other sessions cover Electronic Records Management (Tuesday, June 15, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.), Off-Site Storage, Options and Considerations (Tuesday, May 18, 9-11 a.m.) and E-Mail Management (Thursday, June 24, 9-11 a.m.). All classes will be in Memorial Library Room 126.
