UW libraries, biochem building offer different takes on art

From a contemporary African-American book artist and a look at the American Arts and Crafts Movement to a glimpse into the sheer beauty of science, the UW–Madison campus will open the new season with an array of visual art.

  • “An Artist with a Mission: Amos Paul Kennedy Jr.,” through Sunday, Feb. 29, at the Kohler Art Library. The work of this alumnus expresses views on subjects such as vulnerability of children, his African heritage and community activism. Curated by Nola P. Walker. 263-2256, askart@library.wisc.edu.
  • “The Arts and Crafts Movement, Bungalows and Related Topics,” Steenbock Library through Wednesday, March 31. Books and journals from the 1900s to the present explore furniture, decorative arts, home construction, arts-and-crafts-era pottery, and bungalows.
