Executive MBA scholarship offered to non-profit worker
The School of Business is offering a two-year scholarship for its Executive MBA Program to a qualified applicant who works for a state not-for-profit organization.
The scholarship covers 75 percent of program fees, which are $25,000 per year for the two-year program. Applicants must meet the criteria for the program and be employed full time by a not-for-profit Wisconsin organization.
The Executive MBA Program is a rigorous program, designed for mid- and upper-level managers. It meets on Friday and Saturday every other weekend for two academic years. The program admits 30-35 students each fall.
The application deadline for fall 2004 is June 1; applicants are urged to begin the process promptly. Applications are reviewed by the program’s admissions committee.
Michael Knetter, dean of the School of Business, says the scholarship lends a new perspective to the program, while helping non-profit organizations to succeed.
“We believe that our program gains a diverse viewpoint from representatives from not-for-profit organizations,” Knetter says. “Supporting a student from a not-for-profit organization enables us to contribute to the health of the organization which, in turn, strengthens the community.”
Wisconsin’s Executive MBA Program has been on the Financial Times top-schools list since the international business publication began ranking such programs. In October 2003, the program ranked 16th among all U.S. programs and 27th in the world. It tied for second among all top U.S. schools in percentage of women enrolled.
