Books wanted for library sale
The Friends of the UW–Madison Libraries is seeking donations of books, CDs and LP records for their sale Wednesday through Saturday, March 3-6.
The Friends group hopes to offer more than 15,000 books on a variety of topics. The sale, billed as the largest single used book sale in Wisconsin, helps support an annual lecture series, special purchases for library collections, a visiting scholar program, publications and grants to campus libraries.
Library staff review donations for possible additions to the collections before distribution to the book sale.
The sale will be held in 116 Memorial Library. A preview sale with a $5 admission fee will be 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, March 3.
The regular sale, with no admission fee, will be 10:30 a.m.-7 p.m., Thursday and Friday, March 4-5; and 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, March 6. The Saturday sale will be a $2-a-bag sale; attendees should bring their own bags.
Donations are tax deductible. Materials may be dropped off at the Lake Street dock of Memorial Library on weekdays, 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. To arrange for pickup, contact the Friends of UW–Madison Libraries, 265-2505, friends@library.wisc.edu.
