Going with the floe
Walking on water, seagulls gather on a large section of thin ice that floats just beneath the surface of Lake Mendota near the Below Alumni Center. Sporadic temperatures and rain during winter break caused the lake to freeze and thaw. Photo: Jeff Miller

Stadium construction
This view shows the future eighth-floor Buckingham Suite of Camp Randall Stadium during construction of an addition that will include skyboxes and offices for the athletics department, visible at center above Section O. Because of the construction, the annual spring football game will not be held this year. The Badgers will conduct their 15-practice spring session, tentatively beginning on March 4 and ending on April 10.
