Dane County business survey findings to be unveiled

December 5, 2003

The results of a unique economic survey of Dane County businesses will be announced at the First Business Seminar Series Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 8 a.m. in the Fluno Center.

The survey examines business data provided by 382 targeted Dane County businesses. First Business Bank and the UW–Madison School of Business sponsored the survey, which was conducted by the A. C. Nielsen Center for Market Research at the School of Business in November.

The firms – representing a broad spectrum of companies — were asked to compare 2003 figures on sales revenue, profitability, capital expenditures, facility size, production and operating cost as a percentage of revenue, size of their workforce and wage changes for 2002, and also provide their projections for 2004.

Ted Beck, associate dean of executive education and corporate relations, will present the findings. Also available will be Corey Chambas, president and CEO of First Business Bank, and Charles Hoslet, managing director of UW–Madison’s Office of Corporate Relations.
