WAA celebrates international student graduation

December 1, 2003 By Cheryl Porior-Mayhew

In order to commemorate the graduation and vast achievements of UW–Madison’s international students, the Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA) will host the annual fall International Student Graduation Celebration on Wednesday, Dec. 10, from 5-7 p.m. in the Ameritech Lounge at the Pyle Center, 702 Langdon St. Students are encouraged to wear traditional dress from their home countries.

This event will feature food and a short program of musical entertainment provided by classical guitarist and UW–Madison student Travis Andrews. Family, friends, faculty and staff are welcome to join in the celebration with the graduating students.

Judy Brodd, director of International Student Services, will give short remarks, as will Gilles Bousquet, dean of International Studies, and Liz Stern, WAA’s international relations program specialist.

Students should register online at uwalumni.com/ISGC by Friday, Dec. 5. Contact Liz Stern at LizStern@uwalumni.com or (608) 265-8776 with any questions.

The event is made possible through a partnership between WAA and other UW organizations, including the UW Foundation and International Student Services.
