Wisconsin Singers evoke 40 years of American tunes
The Wisconsin Singers will interpret musical chart-toppers from yesterday and today in the troupe’s new show, “Hey Mr. DJ.” The show opens Friday, Nov. 7, and concludes Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Wisconsin Union Theater.
The on-campus revue of songs, drawn from Broadway, cinema and top 40 radio, starts in the 1960s and makes its musical way to hit tunes of today. The show also will feature performances by the a cappella quartet BC and area high-school choirs.
Now in its 35th year, the Wisconsin Singers are UW–Madison students with a variety of majors, including theater, journalism, elementary education, engineering and mathematics. Tickets ($14 general, $16 at the door; and $8 students or seniors, $10 at the door) are available from the Wisconsin Union Theater Box Office, 262-2201. All seats are reserved.
