Executive MBA program rated among world’s best
The Financial Times of London has ranked the UW–Madison Executive MBA program 27th in the world, up from 33rd last year. UW–Madison is ranked 16th among all U.S. programs and first among U.S. schools in percentage of women enrolled.
The rankings appeared in the Oct. 20 Executive MBA section of the international business newspaper. UW–Madison is the only Wisconsin school to make the Financial Times’ top-75 ranking.
This is the third year that the Financial Times has ranked Executive MBA programs; Wisconsin’s program has been identified as among the world’s best each year. The UW–Madison program, started in 1993, annually admits 30-35 students who are at or near the executive level in their organizations. They attend classes Fridays and Saturdays on alternate weekends during the school year for two years. Many of the area’s top corporations sponsor students in the program, and many executives of respected organizations are graduates of the program.
According to the Financial Times, the top five EMBA programs are Wharton, University of Chicago, Duke University, Columbia and New York University.
The Financial Times ranking takes into account factors including faculty quality and research, and quality and diversity of the program. They also measure – by surveying alumni – alumni satisfaction, international mobility as well as career progress, and salary growth after graduation.
“This new ranking confirms that we are delivering a top-quality program to employers and to the professionals who participate in the program,” says Business School Dean Michael M. Knetter
“I have taught in our EMBA program from the beginning. I am delighted that the rankings reflect the quality of our students – they have been wonderful to work with,” says Randall Dunham, business professor and director of Wisconsin’s EMBA program.
Associate Director Constance Rieben has been involved with the program since its inception.
