Employees offered free bus passes
Transportation Services at is again offering free bus passes to university employees this fall, enabling them to ride at no charge on all Madison Metro Routes, excluding special event shuttles.
Faculty, academic and classified staff, post-doctoral students, limited-term employees, and emeriti faculty and staff are eligible for the program. Graduate assistants and students holding hourly positions are not eligible.
Campus employees can pick up their passes Aug. 11-15 at the Memorial Union, 800 Langdon St., or Aug. 18-22 at Union South, 227 N. Randall Ave. Both locations are open 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Friday.
Additional employee bus passes will be available after Aug. 22 at any of the following Transportation Services offices:
- Transportation Services, 124 WARF building, Monday-Friday, 7:15 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
- Transportation Information Place (TIP), Memorial Union, Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 1-4 p.m.
UW Hospital and Clinics employees can pick up their passes Aug. 20-22 in the hospital’s cafeteria lobby from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. After Aug. 22, passes for UWHC employees will be available in the Clinical Sciences Center (CSC) office, G5/140.
To receive and use the passes, all employees must have a valid UW–Madison identification card. New and replacement university ID cards are available weekdays, 8 a.m.-4:15 p.m., in room B109, Union South.
Paratransit service will also be available as part of the free transit services offered to UW–Madison employees. However, those wishing to use this service must be certified under the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). To apply for certification, contact Madison Metro at (608) 266-4466.
Any employees who have already been authorized for paratransit service will need to fill out a UW employee paratransit form to ensure that they are not charged for the service.
