Walsh wins writing accolade

Timothy Walsh, director of the cross-college advising service, won first place in the 2003 Wisconsin Academy Review/Harry W. Schwartz Bookshops Short Story Contest.

Walsh picked up $500 for his story, “The Sweet Smell of Gasoline.” Wisconsin Academy Review will publish the story in its summer issue. Walsh and other winners will read their works in October at the Wisconsin Book Festival in Madison.
