March 11, 2003

Jack Wunder was presented the 2002 Excellence in Service Award by Gov. James Doyle for his work as facilities engineer in the Environmental Health Program at UW–Madison’s University Health Services.

The award recognizes Wunder’s close work with the Wisconsin Division of Facilities Development engineering staff in researching new chemical fume hood technologies to provide safer operating conditions, reduce overall energy consumption, and simplify the maintenance of teaching and research laboratory ventilation systems. Wunder was commended for his exceptional dedication and commitment to his work at the university, and acknowledged as a tremendous asset to the building program.

The UHS Environmental Health Program inspects and monitors campus food service, air and water quality, and biohazard containment systems in campus research and clinical facilities.
