UW grad finishes third in national accounting exam

February 11, 2003

UW–Madison alumna Kelly Mogensen has earned a bronze medal for finishing third nationally on last May’s Uniform CPA Examination. The awards are given twice a year by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants based on results from the more than 120,000 candidates tested each year.

Mogensen earned her bachelor’s in business degree in 2002 with a double major in accounting and in information systems analysis and design. She works for IBM in Durham, N.C.

Between 1992 and 2001, the School of Business was ranked third nationally in the percentage of undergraduates passing the CPA exam.
