LifeMatters strengthens employee assistance services
The Employee Assistance Office (EAO) has expanded its services to include around-the-clock access to professional counselors for UW–Madison employees and household members experiencing personal or work-related concerns.
The partnership with LifeMatters, a Wisconsin-based employee assistance firm with accounts nationwide, strengthens the suite of services EAO provides, EAO Director Sherry Boeger says.
“Because the need to find help doesn’t conform to regular business hours, we broadened the services to 24/7 availability,” Boeger says. “It is so important for us to provide timely assistance to all of our employees whenever a person needs to reach out.”
EAO and LifeMatters provide free, confidential services including training, financial and legal consultation, time-saving searches, up to five free sessions with a counselor for personal or work-related issues, and management consultation regarding workplace concerns.
LifeMatters can be accessed in a variety of ways: by phone or text 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Support and problem-solving are immediately accessible by phone, or an in-person session with a counselor can be scheduled within 3-5 days.
