Political observer visits campus

November 5, 2002

A journalist and national political observer that George magazine named one of the 50 most influential people in politics will visit campus as the Public Affairs Writer in Residence Nov. 11-15.

Chuck Todd, editor-in-chief of The Hotline, Washington’s daily news briefing on American politics, will speak to classes, consult with students and give a public talk. The talk, which will be followed by a question-and-answer session, is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 3:30 p.m. in the Nafzinger Room, 5055 Vilas Hall.

In his 10 years at The Hotline or one of its affiliates, Todd has become one of Washington’s foremost experts on political campaigns of all levels. He frequently appears on television to analyze campaigns and other political events of the day.

The Public Affairs Writer in Residence program is sponsored by the La Follette School of Public Affairs, Department of Political Science, School of Journalism and Mass Communication and University Communications; and supported by the University of Wisconsin Foundation.
