Pieces created by fiber artist Patricia Hable Zastrow adorn the large expanse of wall space opposite the reception desk in the Arboretum Visitor Center through Nov.28. Incorporating materials native to the area, Zastrow has created items including a reversible jacket woven with milkweed silk and a large silk scarf featuring the life cycle of the monarch butterfly (above). She says observing nature in all its seasons has been the inspiration for many of her creations. Zastrow’s work has been displayed in 33 nationally juried shows, and several of her pieces have been shown in fine art museums on Cape Cod and in Atlanta, Georgia. The Arboretum Visitor Center is at 1207 Seminole Highway. The center’s hours are 9:30 a.m.- 4 p.m. on weekdays and 12:30-4 p.m. on weekends. Photo: courtesy of Arboretum Visitor Center
