Pedestrian bridge closed for repairs

July 5, 2002

The North Park Street pedestrian bridge that links Bascom Hill and the Humanities Building on the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus will be closed for concrete deck repairs starting Monday, July 8.

The bridge is expected to remain closed until late August, reopening just before the start of the fall semester. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the project could extend into September.

Pedestrians will still be able to use the sidewalk along Park Street and the stairs at the northwest corner of Humanities. An alternate handicapped-accessible route will be located across from Lathrop Drive.

The campus bus stop on Park Street near the bridge will be moved a short distance to the south for the duration of the project.
