Music Hall clock to be fixed

June 24, 2002

Weather permitting, Physical Plant workers will replace storm-damaged Music Hall clock faces Tuesday, June 25.

A lightning strike during an early-morning storm March 9 damaged three of the Music Hall’s four clock faces. The strike caused several thousand dollars worth of damage. Pressure from the strike blew a two-foot hole in the area where the lightning entered. The Music Hall, 925 Bascom Mall, is on the eastern edge of Bascom Hill.

The work schedule is difficult to predict, as the project is far from routine. However, it is expected to last most of the day, and possibly into Wednesday.
