Sexual Health Week focuses on healthy sex
Culminating in a creative, carnival-like Sexual Health Fest on Friday, Sexual Health Week through Friday, April 19, offers resources and information for creating a healthier sexual environment on campus.
The week is presented by Sex Out Loud, a student organization dedicated to sexual health, and University Health Services. The theme is “Good Sex Feels Great: Before, During and After.”
Sexual Health Week events include:
- Panel discussion on sexual assault and drugs/alcohol, 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, in On Wisconsin Room A of the Red Gym.
- Lecture about HSV and HIV by Dr. Curtis Brandt, organized by Health Education and Leadership Program, 6 p.m. Thursday, April 18, in 114 Van Hise Hall.
- Sexual Health Fest presented by Sex Out Loud and University Health Services, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, April 19 on Library Mall (or Tripp Commons in Memorial Union in the event of bad weather.)
Sexual Health Fest features various games and informational tables relating to sexual health. UHS will also offer anonymous HIV testing in the Red Gym. Sexual health legislation information will be presented by VOX (Voices for Planned Parenthood).
