Here’s the latest on how flooding is affecting campus
Campus continues to operate normally and move-in is proceeding as scheduled. The primary area of concern is the western areas of campus, around Willow Creek and Lot 60. Since Aug. 21, water has periodically flooded sections of the lakeshore path, Lot 129 and Arboretum Drive. The impact to campus operations has been minimal and easily worked around.
As the news has reported, the primary area of concern is the isthmus and the City of Monona. Flooding continues to impact city operations, especially traffic patterns.
Latest Madison updates and road closures
More rain is forecast for Tuesday and the weekend. The campus will continue to see rising and falling flooding in western sections of the campus, the areas around Willow Creek and Lot 60. It is impossible to say when we will see a true lowering of the water levels on Lake Mendota and in the sewer system. UWPD will continue to monitor the areas of concern and will work to mitigate impact to campus operations.
