WAA hosts international student graduation celebration
Graduating international and exchange students can begin their farewells to the University of Wisconsin–Madison at a special reception at 5 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 5, in the Ameritech Lounge of the Pyle Center, 702 Langdon St.
Sponsored by the Wisconsin Alumni Association, the UW Foundation and International Student Services, the celebration will feature food, entertainment by the Vincent Fuh Trio and lively discussion among students, faculty and staff.
Students are encouraged to wear traditional dress from their home countries and to invite a favorite professor, adviser or mentor.
A short program will feature Sheila Spear, director of ISS; Mike Hinden, interim dean in the Office of International Studies and Programs; and Paula Bonner, president and CEO of WAA.
“There are approximately 300 international students graduating from UW–Madison in December,” says Bonner. “This festive evening will celebrate their accomplishments at the university and the diversity they’ve brought to our campus.”
Students wishing to attend the reception can RSVP online by Friday, Nov. 30.
