Photo gallery A tour of Babcock Hall, and a taste of the ice cream
Students in UW–Madison’s International Student Summer Institute recently toured Babcock Hall Dairy Store to see how they make and distribute the famed ice cream. The institute allows first-year international students to arrive several weeks ahead of the fall semester and take an academic reading and writing class for non-native English speakers. The students also participate in a wide array of campus and community activities and meet current domestic and international students, all with the goal of helping them acclimate to U.S. life before the rush of the fall term. Now in its second year, the institute runs through Aug. 24 this year.
