UW Health phlebotomist Jennifer Prochaska learns how to extinguishing a fire at a Safety Department training session led by Dale Kidd. Kidd and Mike Bubrick train roughly 700 people per year in the use of portable fire extinguishers. The fire extinguisher shop is part of the Safety Department, which inspects and maintains all extinguishers and fire suppression systems for campus and the hospital. Keene, the Emily Mead Baldwin Bell-Bascom Professor in the Creative Arts, is one of the most prolific and accomplished filmmakers working in academe. Her previous feature films, “The Juniper Tree” and “The Heroine of Hell,” have received wide acclaim, been selected for screening at prestigious film festivals and won substantial outside support.
