Project tells stories of sexual assault survivors

As part of Sexual Assault Awareness Week on campus, University Health Service will sponsor the Silent Witness Project, an exhibit that features real-life stories of UW–Madison student sexual assault survivors.

Silhouettes featuring the stories will be set up in Library Mall, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., April 24-27. A staffed informational table accompanies the exhibit.

“The startling reality of sexual assault is that, over the course of their college careers, 20 to 25 percent of women students will be raped or will experience an attempted rape,” says Lori Henn, relationship violence prevention coordinator. “We hope that these courageous stories encourage others to speak out as well.”

The Silent Witness Project is sponsored by the University Health Services with the assistance of Student Community Organizers Promoting Equality and UHS Building Services staff John Wacker and Marcy Schoentgen.
