Formisano rejoins business faculty

January 22, 2001

Roger A. Formisano has joined the faculty in the executive education department of the School of Business to develop and teach programs in strategy and leadership.

Formisano combines an extensive academic record with in-depth experience as a senior executive and investment-banking strategist. He returns to the School of Business after nine years in private industry.

“Roger Formisano has an ideal resume for the post,” says Ted Beck, associate dean for executive education. “His demonstrated teaching excellence at the university, along with the breadth and depth of his corporate experience, make him a great addition to our executive education team.”

Formisano first joined the UW–Madison business faculty in 1978. During his 14-year tenure, he became full professor, received the University’s Stieger Award for distinguished teaching, and served as chair of the Athletic Board from 1989-1992. Formisano had also served as a consultant to many organizations, including: the Federal Trade Commission, Consumer’s Union, Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, Foremost Guaranty, and various state departments.
