UW-Madison introduces new jobs site
Beginning Monday, Oct. 10, a new UW–Madison employment website went online, offering a new look for applicants to the university’s job openings and a new system for those managing recruitment and selection.
The Talent Recruitment and Engagement Management System (TREMS) – was chosen after a thorough study of campus needs.
The UW–Madison Office of Human Resources will transition from its former site, JobApply (uwjobapply.wisc.edu), to the new site, jobs.wisc.edu.
The new employment site provides job alerts, a search and browse feature, online applicant tutorial, and links to vacancies for internal, research, custodial and student opportunities. Also available on the new employment site are contact forms in multiple languages, disability accommodations and frequently asked questions.
Those applying for a job posted on the new employment site will be required to create a new applicant profile in TREMS. Applicants who applied for vacancies prior to Oct. 10 via JobApply can still access their applicant portal at uwjobapply.wisc.edu.
The HR Design Strategic Plan released in December 2012 identified the need to implement an applicant tracking system to capture applications with an efficient, one-stop location that streamlines processes, improves communication and collects Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity information.
Under the TREMS system, job applicants apply online, and administrators communicate directly with applicants and manage applicant materials.
Before being rolled out, TREMS was introduced to a campus stakeholders group of human resources representatives, was tested by two work groups, and was demonstrated for all HR professionals on campus.
To date, the TREMS team has provided comprehensive training to certify more than 200 human resources administrative users in the new system, and another 200 are expected to be trained.
