Bolz Center named to national arts network
The Bolz Center for Arts Administration has been named to the Cultural Policy Network, a select group of leading national arts research and education organizations.
Funded by the Ford Foundation and coordinated by the Center for Arts and Culture in Washington, DC, the network seeks to establish and broaden the concept of cultural policy, to build and extend the field, to solidify scholarship, to generate trusted information and assessment and to effect responsible policy.
The Bolz Center is one of 25 organizations selected for the Cultural Policy Network. Other participants include Harvard, Columbia, Johns Hopkins, Princeton and the University of Chicago.
As part of this national action group, Bolz Center Director E. Arthur Prieve and Assistant Director Andrew Taylor will participate in several national meetings and on-going discussions to legitimize and establish cultural policy studies within academic and policy institutions. The outcome of these initiatives will include essential field-building activities, such as research projects, on-site fellows and interns programs and a publication program.
Founded in 1969 and celebrating its 30th year, the Bolz Center for Arts Administration is a nationally recognized leader in graduate education and research on the creation, promotion, management and presentation of the arts in the United States.
