Winter commencement information
The 1998 winter graduation ceremonies will be held on Sunday, December 20 in the Kohl Center. President Clinton biographer David Maraniss will give the commencement address. The ceremony times and degree conferrals are:
1:00 p.m.
All graduate and professional degrees including:
Ph.D., Law (including Master of Laws), Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Pharmacy, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Doctor of Musical Arts, Master of Fine Arts and all Master’s degrees
Bachelor’s degrees from:
Agriculture, Education, Human Ecology, Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy
4:00 p.m.
Bachelor’s degrees from:
Letters and Science (including the schools of Journalism, Social Work, Music) Engineering and Business
Tickets are not required for relatives and guests who wish to attend. Guest seating is on a first-come first-served basis. There is, however, a designated seating area available for the elderly and persons with disabilities.
Most university parking lots will be available for commencement participant/guest parking. Each ceremony lasts approximately one and one-half hours. Candidates are asked to be in their seats at least 20 minutes before the scheduled starting time.
Specific instructions on seating assignments will be included with caps and gowns when they are picked up at the University Book Store. Questions regarding cap and gown rental should be directed to the Book Store at (608) 257-3784. Questions regarding degree requirements should be directed to your specific college. Diplomas will be mailed approximately ten to twelve weeks after the ceremonies.
Participants with disabilities must contact the McBurney Disability Resource Center if special accommodations are required for the commencement ceremonies. This includes parking permits. Disabled plates and cards are not valid in lots reserved for Special Event Parking. Please call the McBurney Center at (608) 263-2741 for voice and (608) 263-6393 for TTY.
The 1999 Spring Commencement Ceremonies will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 14, 15 and 16,1999 in the Kohl Center. The ceremony times have not yet been determined.
