Memorial Union hosts Thanksgiving Day buffet

Details: Thursday, Nov. 26 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Lakefront Cafeteria Memorial Union $12.75 for adults, $8 children 6-12, $4 children 2-6 and under 2 free.

UW-Madison students and other campus community members in Madison over the long Thanksgiving weekend once again will be able to dine at the UW–Madison Memorial Union’s Thanksgiving buffet.

Union marketing director Maureen Maddox says the 41-year tradition began in 1957 after the union remodeled its Lakefront Cafeteria, where the buffet is held.

Maddox says about 500 diners typically partake of the feast, which includes the ubiquitous roast turkey, ham, beef, side dishes, salads and pumpkin and mince pies, among other things.

The cost is $12.75 for adults, $8 children 6-12, $4 children 2-6 and under 2 free.

Serving hours on Thanksgiving Day will be 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
