Flu shot clinic coming

October 30, 1998

Influenza immunization clinics will again be provided to faculty, staff and students by University Health Services, the Occupational Health Program of the UW- Madison Safety Department and the Visiting Nurse Service of Dane County.

The clinics are scheduled for 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 2-3 at Memorial Union and Nov. 9-10 at Union South.

Faculty and staff pay $8 a shot. If a faculty or staff member has a Medicare card, it will be accepted to cover the cost. HMOs typically provide free flu shots, though the campus clinics may be handier.

Who should get a flu shot? Anyone who doesn’t want to get the flu, says Carla Alvarado, manager of the Occupational Health Program.
