UW-Madison students, alumni and fans celebrated Homecoming 2015, highlighted by the traditional parade down State Street on Friday night. It was one of many Homecoming week activities sponsored by the Wisconsin Alumni Association (WAA). In the main event Saturday, the Badger football team defeated Purdue, 24-7.

Members of several fraternities, including Alpha Phi Alpha and Phi Beta Sigma, danced their way down State Street as the procession continued.
Several revelers made a fall fashion statement in the striped bib overalls that have become standard gear for many a well-dressed fan.
In case the many red hats, sweaters and jackets didn’t make the point, distinctive buttons distributed to the crowd also proclaimed Homecoming.
Earlier in the week, students broke into teams, donned giant inflatable spheres and battled for the ball during a game of bubble soccer at the McClain Center.
On Saturday, the Badgers took the field determined to notch their second Big Ten victory of the season in a battle with the Purdue Boilermakers.
On a bright but chilly day at Camp Randall Stadium, warm headgear was not out of place in the crowd of more than 80,000.
After running the length of the field, law students (including Marc Pawlus, in plaid) toss their canes over the south goal post before the game. Law School lore dating back to the 1930s holds that those who catch their cane on the other side will win their first case; those who don’t will have to settle.
In the game, running back Alec Ingold (45) made his way into the end zone for a first-quarter touchdown — one of his two scores in Wisconsin’s 24-7 win.
