UHS Presents Series On Student Health Issues
University Health Services will present “Connecting Health and Culture,” a series of colloquia on health issues relevant to students.
Held during spring semester, the talks will feature health professionals from the university and will be held on Thursdays, 4-6 p.m. in Memorial Union (check Today in the Union for location). Light refreshments will be served and each talk will be followed by a question-and-answer period. The colloquia include:
- Thursday, Feb. 19: “Choices in Context: Health and Community on Campus”; Dr. Richard Keeling, UHS director and professor of medicine
- Thursday, March 19: “Generational Dynamics: Insights and Challenges,” with a focus on understanding and connection in the face of powerful generational differences; Carol Lobes, associate director of UHS Prevention Services
- Thursday, April 16: “A New Approach to High-Risk Drinking: The RWJ Project”; Dr. Richard Keeling, UHS director and co-principal investigator on the RWJ Project, an effort to change the UW–Madison campus and community culture to reduce high-risk drinking; Aaron Brower, associate professor of social work and integrated liberal studies, co-principal investigator on the RWJ Project; Rob Adsit, project specialist for the RWJ Project; and Carol Lobes, RWJ project director
