Roundtable discussion features SBA official Winslow Sargeant
Winslow Sargeant, chief counsel for advocacy at the Small Business Administration and a UW–Madison engineering graduate, will discuss the most pressing issues confronting technology ventures in Wisconsin and beyond at a free roundtable discussion on Wednesday, Aug. 22.
The event will be held from 4:30-6 p.m. at the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery, 330 N. Orchard St. A reception will follow the program.
Sargeant, an entrepreneur and a former managing director of Madison-based Venture Investors, will be joined by regional leaders to discuss subjects ranging from patent reform and the America Invents Act to SBIR funding, FDA processes, venture capital and immigration.
The other roundtable speakers include: Zach Brandon, director, Wisconsin Angel Network; Kevin Conroy, president and CEO, Exact Sciences; Carl Gulbrandsen, managing director, Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation; and John Neis, managing director, Venture Investors of Wisconsin
Tom Still, president of the Wisconsin Technology Council, will moderate the discussion. Registration is encouraged to ensure appropriate seating. Parking is available in UW–Madison campus lots 17, 20 and 80.
