UW-Madison named a 2013 Best Buy in Fiske Guide to Colleges
The University of Wisconsin–Madison is one of just 20 public institutions, and 21 private, named as Best Buys in the “Fiske Guide to Colleges 2013.”
To be named a Best Buy, each school must offer top academics – four- or five-star ratings out of five – at an inexpensive or moderate cost. The schools also boast an outstanding quality of campus life.
The honor comes in the same year that UW–Madison was named the 13th-best value among public universities by the magazine Kiplinger’s Personal Finance.
Among Big Ten schools, Indiana University and the University of Iowa are also classified as Best Buys. Marquette University was also listed.
The Fiske Guides were started by Edward B. Fiske, who served as education editor of the New York Times for 17 years before creating the annual Fiske Guide to Colleges.
