‘Food for Thought’ Showcases UW-Madison Authors
The Kennedy Manor Dining Room and Bar is hosting “Food for Thought,” a series of three author dinners to benefit the Madison Public Library Foundation.
Each dinner will showcase a conversation with an individual author:
- Monday, June 9, 7:00 p.m., Agate Nesaule: author of A Woman in Amber: Healing the Trauma of War and Exile. Nesaule is a child survivor of World War II internment camps. She received her doctorate from UW–Madison and started the women’s studies program at UW-Whitewater where she now teaches.
- Monday, July 14, 7:00 p.m., Kelly Cherry: professor of English at UW–Madison and award-winning poet and novelist whose books include Writing the World. Her latest novel is My Life and Dr. Joyce Brothers.
- Monday, August 11, 7:00 p.m., Paul Boyer: professor of history at UW–Madison and director of the Institute for Research in the Humanities. Boyer is author of When Time Shall Be No More: Prophecy Belief in Modern American Culture.
A moderator will preside over each dinner. Dinners will feature a special menu. Tickets are $100 per guest or $275 for the entire series. Call 608-256-5556 for reservations.
