Welcome the Wards on Sept. 21

The campus community will have an opportunity to extend a welcome back to Interim Chancellor David Ward and his wife, Judith, on Wednesday, Sept. 21 in the Main Lounge of the Memorial Union.

The event, which will be held from 3–5 p.m., is a casual “meet-and-mingle” affair that will give the Wards a chance to get reacquainted with old friends and meet new ones among faculty, staff and students.

David Ward, who served as UW–Madison chancellor from 1993–2000, this summer agreed to serve as interim chancellor. He will serve while a search is conducted for a permanent replacement to Biddy Martin, who left after three years as chancellor to become president of Amherst College.

After leaving UW–Madison, David Ward led the American Council on Education in Washington, D.C. for seven years.
