Union South provides a new launching pad for campus tours
Beginning this week, visitors arriving for information sessions and campus tours should go to Union South and check in at the Campus and Community Information Welcome Desk.
Officials say this change allows prospective students and families witness the energy of life on campus first-hand as they explore all there is to do at the new student union.
Union South, which reopened in April, features new places to dine and shop, a movie theater, bowling, rock climbing, and a venue to watch Badger sports. See a map of the new building’s location here. Check out what’s happening right now on Today in the Union which lists events at both Union South and the Memorial Union.
Information sessions are hosted by staff members from the Office of Admissions and Recruitment. Topics covered include an overview of the university and academic programs; insight into the admissions application process; highlights of student life and extracurricular opportunities; and instructions for securing housing and financial aid.
Campus tours are led by current undergraduate students to showcase key academic buildings, research spaces, historic points of interest, and student gathering spaces. Previews of residence halls will not be offered as part of the tour. Admitted students will be invited to residence hall tour opportunities on select days during the academic year.
Register for an information session and/or tour at VisitBucky on the admissions website. Parking information and event-specific notes will be listed in your confirmation e-mail. Travelers are also welcome to stay at the Wisconsin Union Hotel located in the building.
Welcoming visitors at Union South is made possible by a new partnership between Visitor and Information Programs, the Wisconsin Union, and the Office of Admissions and Recruitment.
