UW-Madison conference will educate for lives of purpose

The Student Personnel Association at the University of Wisconsin–Madison will host its annual conference, “Educating for Lives of Purpose,” on Thursday, March 10, at the Concourse Hotel. All members of the campus community are encouraged to attend.

Scheduled for 8:15 a.m.-4:45 p.m., the conference will offer an opportunity for participants to explore their purpose as it relates to student life on campus. Paul Ginsberg, emeritus dean of students at UW–Madison, will deliver the morning keynote address. Ginsberg was an advocate for students and worked throughout his tenure to strengthen student engagement.

The afternoon keynote will be presented by Jerlando Jackson from UW–Madison’s Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis in the School of Education. Jackson will discuss “A Pilot Study of the Workplace Experiences for White Student Affairs Professionals at Historically Black Colleges and Universities: Implications for Organizational Culture and Future Research.”

Cost is $35 for SPA members, $45 for non-SPA members and $25 for students. Registration deadline is Friday, March 4.
