Erik Carter, Department of Rehabilitation Psychology and Special Education, won the 2009 Distinguished Early Career Research Award from the Council for Exceptional Children’s Division of Research; and the 2009 Early Career Award from the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
Peter Hewson, Department of Curriculum and Instruction, is the recipient of the 2009 Distinguished Contribution through Research Award, the highest honor presented by the National Association for Research in Science Teaching.
Nancy Langston, Department of Forest and Wildlife Ecology, received the American Society for Environmental History’s Leopold-Hidy Award for writing the best article of 2008 in the society’s journal, Environmental History.
Ken Zeichner, School of Education, received the 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education.
Computer sciences professors David DeWitt and Jeffrey Naughton are among the recipients of the Association for Computing Machinery’s 2008 Software System Award.
