Free tax-preparation service offered on campus

March 23, 2009

Federal and state tax forms are due in less than a month. UW–Madison faculty, staff and students can receive free tax preparation by IRS-qualified volunteers and start working on your financial goals, including receiving financial aid. Services will be hosted at Grainger Hall for students and current staff who had less than $42,000 in combined 2008 income.

The organizations sponsoring this program, Progress Through Business and the Puelicher Center, cannot do tax forms for those married filing separately, or for those who had income from outside of Wisconsin or those with self-employment income. You must bring with you an original social security card for each person who will be listed on your tax form. The following forms can be completed: 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ, Schedule A and Wisconsin forms.

Non-military and non-international taxpayers can be served and special priority will be given to those with disabilities.
