Office creates online forum for global topic discussions
Global Studies and the Offices of the Dean of Students have launched the second WI-Global Forum.
It is an online discussion for undergraduates on contemporary global topics and their relevance to and impact on local communities. The student participants in blog postings and comments have an opportunity to interact with fellow students and forum readers from across campus and around the world. The forum provides faculty a venue to encourage their students to weigh in on global issues.
The topic for this semester is international sports, the interplay of sports and marketing at the global level and how people and nations define themselves through sport. The forum opened in September to all undergraduates and will close at the end of the semester, with up to two active contributors receiving $125 awards for the most outstanding posts to the discussion.
Further details on the forum are available at http://wi.global.wisc.edu or by e-mailing wi-global@global.wisc.edu.
