Berquam announces ODOS changes

Dean of Students Lori Berquam recently announced staff appointments to several key student life units. They are:

• Tonya Schmidt and Kathy Kruse have been named assistant deans in the Student Advocacy and Judicial Affairs (SAJA) unit of the Offices of the Dean of Students. Schmidt had been serving as an interim assistant dean, while Kruse moves from Orientation and New Student Programs, where she helped direct Wisconsin Welcome.
• Laurie Cox has been named director of International Student Services. Cox previously served as associate director of the Office of International Services at the University of Southern California. She will begin Dec. 3.

Berquam says she specially recognizes Sara Thurston-Gonzalez for dedicated leadership and hard work while serving as ISS interim director.

• Mark Kueppers has been hired as the new student organization adviser for the Student Organization Office.
• Eric Mata and Sarah Napoli have been hired as the new social justice education specialists for the Multicultural Student Center.
